XP to 7

i just thought people liked win 7 visual look better than win vista. can XPTSP make that way one day, patch XP to 7 look-a-like?

I suppose it can be done. Can you tell me what would have to be changed in order to make it look more like Win7 instead of Vista? It might be that we would have to create a new Extra's package in order to make the changes.... Might also have to build a theme.... I dunno yet...

Firstly, you can modify anyone of the Visual styles you have created earlier. Here is a list of general steps:
- Apply bitmaps of Windows 7 visual style.
- Whenever programs are minimized, only an icon of program is visible and no text in Taskbar.
- Rest are Windows 7 Bitmaps and images.
- Icons are similar to Windows Vista.

Sorry, there is no solution in my hand for animated Logon Screen and Wallpaper using OOBE folder.

Major work to accomplish, as I (or someone) would have to recreate the templates used to do every bitmap in the theme.....

Balderoine created a new ViStart skin that looks exactly like Windows 7. It's worth investigating..... (EDIT: forgot the link to the download page: http://forum.thewindowsclub.com/downloads-windows/28002-download-windows-7-vistart-windows-xp.html)

Windows 7's Logon screen isn't animated, so when you say "animated Logon Screen", I assume you mean "Bootscreen". If this assumption is correct, then a animated bootscreen simply cannot be done. XP's kernel does not support them. Dunno about animated wallpapers......

well,i aint good enough in using resource hacker to patch xp files to 7 look-a-like. i hope a lot Dougiefresh or the other member can create a patcher (perhaps like seven Transformation Pack) make xp to 7 (except animated bootscreen of course coz the XP kernel limitation)
